Nepal : Six-Member Team of Tunnel Experts from China Deployed in the Trishuli area via a Chinese helicopter

Kathmandu : Following approval from the Government of Nepal, a six-member team of tunnel experts from China has been deployed today to assist with the rescue operation. The team arrived directly in the Trishuli area via a Chinese helicopter. These Chinese technicians, specialists in tunnel rescue operations, will now work alongside the Nepali Army’s rescue team. The rescue mission has become challenging due to a large number of people being trapped inside the tunnel of a hydroelectric project in the Trishuli area following floods and landslides. Nepal is also seeking foreign technical assistance to assess conditions inside the tunnel and ensure a safe rescue.
