Rishikesh : (Manoj Rautela) :Its Yoga time…Meditation time in the capital of yoga…..On Saturday, the second day of the ninth ‘Maha Yoga Dhyan Kumbh 9.0’ (MYDK 9.0)—held at the tSwami Narayan Ashram Ghat in Muni Ki Reti, Rishikesh—a message of inner peace and introspection was conveyed through collective meditation, yoga practice, and classical music on the banks of the Ganges. During this five-day spiritual gathering, organized by the Pyramid Spiritual Societies Movement (PSSM) and PMC Hindi, an action plan was presented to introduce meditation to 300 million people across the country by the year 2030.

The day began at 4:30 AM with yoga practice. Under the guidance of a yoga acharya and with the assistance of practitioner Lavkush Tiwari, participants performed *Tadasana*, *Tiryak Tadasana*, *Kati Chakrasana*, neck exercises, and various subtle physical movements (*sukshma vyayama*). This was followed by a collective chanting of the *Omkara* and the *Gayatri Mahamantra*.

From 5:00 AM to 7:30 AM, a main meditation session took place on the banks of the Ganges, where participants practiced *Anapanasati* (mindfulness of breathing) amidst the melodies of classical music. The musical ensemble featured Ganesh Kumar on the violin, Ramakrishna Hegde on the sitar, A.K. Raghavendra on the flute, Karthik Pranav on the mridangam, and Santosh Kumar on the tabla. Practitioners were guided to focus on their natural, incoming and outgoing breath, without the use of any mantras or rituals.

Emphasis on Introspection and Inner Consciousness

Following the meditation session, a recorded message from the founder of PSSM, Brahmarshi Subhash Patriji, was broadcast. In this, the message conveyed was to focus on self-observation and self-improvement, rather than becoming preoccupied with the thoughts or shortcomings of others. Emphasis was placed on the need to understand one’s inner consciousness and to cultivate self-awareness.

Celebrating 25 Years of Spiritual Literature

On the second day of the ‘Maha Yoga Dhyan Kumbh’ (Grand Yoga and Meditation Gathering), a special discussion was held regarding the dissemination of spiritual literature and magazines in regional languages. Marking the 25th year of the publication of the magazines ‘New Age Spiritual India’ and ‘New Age Spiritual Science,’ speakers highlighted the role of literature in bringing meditation and spiritual concepts to society. Srinivas Reddy described spiritual literature as the ideological identity of the organization, shedding light on its universal and holistic perspective. Srujana Venugopal Reddy recounted the journey of both magazines, noting that they have compiled the teachings of over 1,330 Indian masters and 88 spiritual scientists.

Representatives of the magazines—published in Hindi, Odia, Gujarati, and Marathi—shared updates on the expansion of meditation-related literature in their respective languages. The speakers urged for the message of meditation to be spread to both rural and urban communities through these regional languages.

Reaching 300 Million People via the ‘Observe, Learn, and Share’ Model

The trustees and the executive team of ‘PMC Hindi’ introduced the ‘Observe, Learn, and Share’ model, designed to promote meditation on a national scale. This initiative aims to engage people in meditation through television broadcasts, YouTube channels, the PMC app, a 14-day introductory course, and a 40-day ‘Become a Master’ program. The organization also shared information regarding a free-of-cost helpline.

According to P.V. Ramaraju, PMC’s satellite broadcasts have reached approximately 30 million households. He further noted that 15 ‘Dhyan Yagnas’ (meditation gatherings/events) have been organized this year across various regions in North India and the Northeast. State-level events are planned for the near future in Srinagar, Kerala, Mizoram, and Tripura. Speakers urged practitioners to introduce those around them to meditation and to assist in promoting the PMC app. Information was also provided regarding an eight-week Meditation Teacher Training Program, scheduled to begin this coming March. The event reiterated the goal of reaching 300 million (30 crore) people with meditation by the year 2030 and developing a large cadre of trained meditation instructors.

Discussion on Social Service and Personal Experiences

The program included discussions on initiatives such as ‘Positive News’ (Positive Samachar), ‘Project Azadi’, and ‘Dhyan Gramin’ (Meditation for Rural Areas). These efforts focus on highlighting positive activities, introducing meditation to prison inmates, and promoting meditation in rural regions. During a session on health, Dr. Saurabh Ranjan shared his insights on the relationship between meditation and well-being, and provided information about PMC’s ‘Ask the Doctor’ program. Speakers identified regular meditation, a vegetarian lifestyle, and self-awareness as core objectives of the movement.

In the concluding session, members of the PMC channel’s production team were honored. Senior producer Namrata shared her personal journey, explaining how meditation brought positive change to her life during a period marked by family bereavement and mental stress. Throughout the event, the meditation-related experiences of practitioners were also being documented on video at a studio set up within the ashram premises. On the second day of the ‘Maha Yoga Dhyan Kumbh’, the focus was placed on individual practice, the social dissemination of meditation, spiritual literature, and training. The organizers reaffirmed their commitment to reaching as many people as possible through collective effort and modern communication channels..
