Rishikesh: Now DNA tests can also be done in AIIMS, Molecular Research Diagnostic Laboratory was duly inaugurated

Rishikesh : In a program organized at AIIMS Rishikesh, the Molecular Research Clinical Laboratory was duly inaugurated by Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, Additional Secretary Health  Jaideep Kumar Mishra and Institute’s Executive Director Professor (Dr.) Meenu Singh. It has been told that along with research in this laboratory, tests related to the treatment of various diseases can also be done.

The Molecular Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (Molecular Research Diagnostic Laboratory) established at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS Rishikesh was formally started. It was informed on the occasion that this laboratory would be used for DNA testing, RNA testing and PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) testing etc. Apart from this, along with research related works, tests of patients suffering from Kovid-19 can also be done in this laboratory.

On this occasion, the Institute’s Executive Director Professor (Dr.) Meenu Singh said that the establishment of this laboratory will help in prescribing accurate and beneficial medicines especially for patients suffering from cancer and also in diagnosing congenital genetic diseases. He informed that the establishment of this modern hi-tech based laboratory will also give a boost to research work. Various officers and faculty members of the institute were present during the programme.
