Rishikesh : Fourth Leopard caged in Khadri village,  villagers breathed a sigh of relief

Rishikesh : Its indeed good news for the Khadri Village. Finally, fourth leopard (Guldar) has been caged. On Wednesday morning in Veer Chandra Garhwali Nagar Mota Plot of Khadri Khadakmaf, Gram Sabha of Nyaya Panchayat Shyampur forest department team arrived after leopard information.

After 2 months, this is the fourth leopard which is caged in the Khadi Khadak Maanf village. The movement of Guldar was being seen in the area since the last few months. After which the Forest Department had put a cage here, the third Guldar was also cagedin the cage on Wednesday itself. Today again on Wednesday morning, finally the fourth Guldar was caged in the cage. In view of the movement of leopared/Guldar in the area, the people of the area had submitted a memorandum to the Forest Department’s office on November 24, 2021, demanding installation of the cage, after which the Forest Department had put up a cage in the area. The result of which is visible in a few days and the Guldar was imprisoned in the cage.

Young social worker Naveen Negi says that due to such panic of Guldar, there was an atmosphere of fear among the villagers. But now the villagers have breathed a sigh of relief after all the four were caught. Earlier,  The villagers had requested the forest department to put up cages to catch the guldar. At the spot,  Rishikesh Ranger Mahendra Singh Rawat, Rescuer Kamal Singh Rajput, Rajesh Bahuguna, Bhola, social worker Naveen Negi, Anil Rawat, Vinod Chauhan, Naresh Pundir, Environmentalist Vinod Juglan, Pintu, Ashish Ranakoti, Kuldeep Rawat, Akhil Bhandari etc. villagers of Khadri were present on the occasion.
