Rishikesh: “Ganga River Rafting Management Committee meeting was convened on Saturday in Shivpuri Tehri Garhwal under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Mayur Dixit.” During this, online rafting booking app was launched for rafting operators. The District Magistrate directed the concerned officials to hold a meeting with rafting operators to fix the rates of GoPro camera for the convenience of tourists in the Ganga river. Along with this, SDM Narendranagar was instructed to identify the place for the rehri, dhaba, food vendors to be set up at the pull in pull out point of rafting, so that there is no jam situation at the rafting site. The officer of Forest Department Narendranagar was asked to identify the place for rafting and dispose of the proposal of land transfer as soon as possible. The District Tourism Development Officer was directed to ensure that no wedding, marriage, hotel or camp is conducted without permission on the banks of the Ganga River and on the beach in Shivpuri. The Senior Adventure Sports Officer was directed to make necessary arrangements for rafting including toilets and to make online booking mandatory for all rafting firms from 01 January 2025.
Sub-District Magistrate Narendranagar Devendra Negi, Tehsildar Pradeep Kandhari, Forest Officer Narendranagar, DTDO Pauri K.S. Negi, Secretary Ganga River Rafting Committee Jaspal Singh Chauhan, DTDO Tehri S.S. Rana along with Ajit Bajaj, Bhupendra Singh Pundir, Dharmendra Negi, Anubhav Payal, Bijender Bisht, HDFC representatives, Thrill Factory Shivpuri representatives, Gram Pradhan Shivpuri and other concerned were present in the meeting.
