Rishikesh: TB medicine delivered to CHC Hindolakhal through DRONE, second trial of AIIMS’s drone health service also successful

Rishikesh: Under the able guidance of Executive Director Professor Dr. Meenu Singh, the drone trial being conducted by AIIMS, Rishikesh with the aim of promoting drone-based health services, continued for the second day on Friday. As part of the trial, on Friday, TB medicines were sent from AIIMS Rishikesh to CHC Hindolakhal Devprayag in Tehri district through drone.

On Friday, Executive Director Professor Meenu Singh flagged off the drone service from AIIMS helipad at 11.30 am. The flight covered a distance of 47 kilometers in 34 minutes and reached Community Health Centre, Hindolakhal Devprayag Tehri Garhwal at 12.17 pm. On this occasion, Namo Drone Didi also participated in CHC. It was told that today’s drone flight covered the longest distance so far in terms of aerial distance. Dr. Jitendra Gairola, Nodal Officer of Drone Health Services of AIIMS, said that with the cooperation of AIIMS Rishikesh State & Central Government and telemedicine service of the institute, drone based health services are being provided in remote rural areas of Uttarakhand to meet the needs of emergency medicine, blood, etc. CHC is working on a mapping plan of centres, district hospitals and other inaccessible areas to provide emergency and high altitude medicine during the Chardham Yatra.
