Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today held a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence regarding preparations for the Prime Minister’s proposed visit to Uttarakhand on April 14, as well as the inauguration ceremony of the Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor (Delhi–Dehradun Expressway). Describing this occasion as extremely significant and historic for the state, the Chief Minister directed all departments to work in close coordination. He stated that the participation of every section of society must be ensured in this grand event so that it may truly take the form of a public festival. The Chief Minister directed officials to design the framework of the program in a manner that is both highly attractive and well-organized. Emphasizing, in particular, the need to organize cultural programs with great grandeur, he stated that glimpses of Uttarakhand’s rich cultural heritage—specifically Garhwali, Kumaoni, and Jaunsari folk dances and music—should be showcased magnificently during the event. The venue should be decorated using a blend of traditional and modern aesthetics, and the broad participation of artists must be ensured. He added that this event should not merely be a government function, but rather a symbol of Uttarakhand’s culture, tradition, and pride. Chief Minister Dhami also appealed to the general public to participate enthusiastically in this historic occasion. He urged people to step out of their homes, carrying the national flag, to join the event during the Prime Minister’s roadshow, and called for the creation of a festive atmosphere throughout the entire state. Furthermore, issuing instructions to conduct a cleanliness drive across the state prior to the event, he urged public representatives, the administration, and ordinary citizens to work together to make this occasion clean, beautiful, and memorable.

Highlighting the significance of the Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that this project would prove instrumental in giving a new direction to the development of Uttarakhand. Through this corridor, travel time between Delhi and Dehradun will be significantly reduced, thereby providing an unprecedented boost to tourism. Furthermore, industrial and commercial activities within the state will expand, creating new employment opportunities for the youth. This corridor will also bring about revolutionary changes in the fields of logistics, transportation, and investment, thereby strengthening the state’s economy. The Chief Minister remarked that the inauguration of this long-awaited project would be recorded as a golden chapter in the history of Uttarakhand’s development, further empowering the state to integrate more firmly into the mainstream of national development. Senior officials were present at the meeting, including Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt, Secretary Shailesh Bagauli, Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal, the Senior Superintendent of Police (Dehradun), and Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari, among other concerned officials.
