Rishikesh : The main wire of the 100-year-old world famous Lakshman Jhula (bridge) connecting Tehri and Pauri of Rishikesh in Uttarakhand suddenly broke. This has created a stir in the administration, after which the movement of common people has been stopped on the bridge. There was a sudden stir on the Laxman Jhula bridge on Sunday afternoon, when the wind wire of the world famous 100 year old bridge connecting Tehri and Pauri district suddenly broke, due to which the passengers passing through the bridge were stirred. On this information, Muni ki Reti police station in-charge Ritesh Shah reached the spot and the passengers coming from the bridge have been stopped. It is being told that the construction work of new Bajrang bridge is being done near the bridge, due to which the huge bucket of Laxman Jhula bridge broke down and fell. It should also be mentioned here that after the expiry of the life of this bridge, on 13 July 2021, the bridge was completely closed for the movement of people, after which the same bridge is now under the supervision of PWD Construction Corporation by a construction company called Bajrang. The bridge is being constructed. So far there is no news of any untoward incident due to the breaking of the wire. At the same time, the officials of PWD department reached the spot and the situation is being reviewed.
