UK: Links to Delhi Blast… Two Maulanas from Haldwani Interrogated

Haldwani/New Delhi : Police are also questioning a Maulana in other areas of Nainital, further expanding the scope of the investigation. Investigating agencies are trying to determine whether a local network in Uttarakhand was active behind the Delhi blasts.
The recent Delhi blasts have now been linked to Uttarakhand. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has detained two individuals from Haldwani, Nainital district, for questioning in this case. The NIA team conducted an operation in the Banbhulpura area of Haldwani on Saturday, November 29, 2025. Maulana Asim, who leads prayers at the Bilali Mosque, and another resident of Jawahar Nagar were detained. However, after questioning and gathering information, both were released.
These arrests are believed to be linked to terrorist Umar, the main accused in the Delhi blasts. The NIA is conducting a thorough investigation into the call details associated with terrorist Umar in this case. Based on these call details, Maulana Asim and another individual are being questioned to determine their connection to the Delhi blasts. Police are also questioning a Maulana in other areas of Nainital, further expanding the scope of the investigation. Nainital SSP Manjunath TC stated that central investigation agencies, Nainital Police, and the Special Task Force (STF) detained Maulana Asim and others from Banbhulpura, Haldwani, today and interrogated them extensively. Both individuals were jointly questioned on matters related to national security, after which they were released. However, the agencies’ investigation in Nainital district is still ongoing.Earlier, NIA had arrested 7 people in the Delhi blast case, including Aamir Rashid Ali, Jasir Bilal Wani, Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, Dr. Adil Ahmed, Dr. Shaheen Saeed, Mufti Irfan Ahmed, Shoaib.
