AIIMS Raipur’s Executive Director, Lt. Gen. Ashok Jindal, and the Trust’s Chairman, C. Sreenivas, formally signed the agreement documents and exchanged copies with one another

Raipur/Rishikesh : A second Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding joint research was signed between the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Raipur (Chhattisgarh), and the Sri Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust. During the ceremony, both institutions expressed their commitment to taking medical research to new heights in the future.

According to information provided by Chitraveer Kshetri, Public Relations Officer at Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital, Raiawala, the agreement signed between AIIMS Raipur and the Sri Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust focuses specifically on pediatric cardiac diseases and public health research. The ceremony marking this occasion was inaugurated by lighting the ceremonial lamp by AIIMS Raipur’s Executive Director, Lt. Gen. Ashok Jindal, and the Trust’s Chairman, C. Sreenivas.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Abhiruchi Galhotra highlighted AIIMS Raipur’s research activities, noting that this partnership has the potential to bring about significant transformative changes, particularly in the fields of cardiac care and public health. Commending the work undertaken by the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Research Foundation, she stated that this collaboration would serve to strengthen evidence-based medical research.During the proceedings, AIIMS Raipur’s Executive Director, Lt. Gen. Ashok Jindal, and the Trust’s Chairman, C. Sreenivas, formally signed the agreement documents and exchanged copies with one another. Both institutions reiterated their shared commitment to elevating medical research to unprecedented levels in the years to come.

As part of the event, “Certificates of Life” were also presented to a number of patients—in the presence of their guardians—under the Trust’s “Gift of Life” program. Addressing the gathering, the Trust’s Chairman, C. Sreenivas, remarked that this agreement is not merely a bureaucratic formality on paper, but rather a “union of hearts.” He emphasized the critical need for a robust healthcare system to realize the vision of a developed India. Concurrently, Lt. Gen. Ashok Jindal described this partnership as a “step taken in the right direction.” Experts believe that this agreement will prove to be a milestone in the times to come—facilitating disease prevention, the identification of underlying causes, and the development of improved treatment modalities.

Access to Advanced Research Facilities-
The Bio-bank and Homograft Valve Bank established by the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Research Foundation are regarded as the key pillars of this partnership. The tissues and specimens preserved within this facility—Central India’s first Homograft Valve Bank—will be utilized for the study of complex diseases. The collection of over 80,000 samples to date marks a significant achievement in this endeavor, which will aid in the development of precise and effective treatments in the future.
