Srinagar : Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande, the Administrator/District Magistrate, Pauri Garhwal, duly assumed charge of the newly created Municipal Corporation Srinagar late on Tuesday.
On this occasion, Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat welcomed him with a bouquet. During this, while taking the first review meeting of the Municipal Corporation, he heard various problems of the local residents/public representatives. In the meeting held, the Administrator Municipal Corporation said that development works would be done expeditiously. He said that efforts would be made that the tendering process would be completed before the code of conduct.

He said that with the formation of Municipal Corporation Srinagar, development works would be done expeditiously. Said that everyone should welcome it by rising above party politics. He said that the problems raised by the people in the meeting would be resolved soon. So that people will not have to face problems. He said that no tax would be taken in the Municipal Corporation for the next 10 years and the budget of the Municipal Corporation would be released soon. At the same time, Administrator Dr. Jogdande said that the main focus would be on cleanliness, electricity, remote drinking water system, street lights, getting rid of stray animals, CC road, encroachment, drains, sewer lines and other problems in the Municipal Corporation.
He Said that the nearby villages which have been merged with the Municipal Corporation will focus on other works including canals, roads, drains, cleanliness. At the same time, he said that a report would be submitted to the government soon to fill up the vacant posts in the Municipal Corporation.
In the meeting held, the President of the Press Club demanded the building of the Press Club. On this occasion, Mandal President Girish Painyuli, former Municipal President Rajendra Prasad Tamta, Deputy Collector Ajaybir Singh, EO Municipality Pauri Pradeep Bisht, along with Jitendra Singh, Anugrah Mishra, Vineet Posti, Sudhir Joshi and officials and public representatives of the Board of Trade were present.
