- Rotary Club Rishikesh (RCR) came forward to help to effective people of disaster in Dharali in Uttarkashi , handed over a cheque of 1, 11,000/- to SDM for Chief Minister Relief Fund


Rishikesh: (Manoj Rautela) Rotarians from Rotary Club Rishkesh (RCR) has come forward to help those effective people of Uttarkashi Disaster with open heart here in Rishikesh. Those who comes here, for treatment, club will take responsibility of those people or for their family members who comes rishikesh.
An emergency meeting of the Rotary Club of Rishikesh [RCR] was held on Thursday at Hotel The Villana, Railway Road, Rishikesh on the Dharali disaster in Uttarkashi. In the Meeting, it was decided that we should come forward to help the disaster victims. This is also the soul of the club. Service is the ultimate religion….After that, while holding a press conference on Thursday, the members of the Rotary Club Rishikesh informed the local Journalists. It was decided in the meeting that whoever comes to Rishikesh, his/her treatment and the boarding and lodging of his/her attendants/relatives will be arranged by the club. Apart from this, the club members have given a cheque of Rs. 1,11,000/- (total one lakh eleven thousand only) to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund through SDM Rishikesh. During the Press Conference, Club President Vishal Tayal informed that it was not possible for us to reach there during this disaster. Because, as I have been personally associated with many of the people of that area for about 15 years. These include businessmen, common people and others. When I talked to them, they said that there is a road block in Gangpani and it cannot be said when it will be fixed in a week or ten days or more. The only means available right now is helicopter. In such a situation, our team decided to donate this amount to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Also, whoever comes to Rishikesh as a victim, Rotary Club will help him/her and his/her family members with full dedication.
He said, 25 beds have been arranged in AIIMS in Rishikesh. As we coordinated with AIIMS administration. Also, there will be no shortage in treatment, stay, food etc. There is Madhav Seva Sadan in Barrage Colony, 20 beds have been arranged in it by the club. Our endeavor will be to ensure that the victims do not face any problems. According to President Vishal Tayal, Rotary Club Rishikesh is always dedicated to helping the victims of disasters. If the victims need anything in addition to this, the Rotary Club Rishikesh will also help them. A committee of three people has been formed to help in times of disaster. Their numbers are also given below. As a helpline. If a victim or his/her family has any problem, they will be helped here in Rishikesh. They can call on these three numbers.

During the Press Conference, Dr. DK Srivastava said, our team will try to reach there after a week, ten days, fifteen days, we will do psychological counseling or whatever else we can do. This is not only limited to now but the club’s support will continue for the next six months. Whatever is possible. Along with this, he appealed to the many NGOs across the country to come forward and in this hour of disaster we have to stand with those victims. Those who lost their loved ones, those who lost their homes, businesses, hotels, everything. On this occasion, among the Rotarians, Vishal Tayal, Manoj Verma, Shiv Prasad Bhatt (media in-charge), Balwant Dang, Dr. DK Srivastava, Ravi Kaushal, Shailendra Agarwal, Bharat Sharma, Jitendra Barthwal, Meharban Bisht etc. were present.

After that its representatives/members have brought this club to such heights, today we feel proud that we are Rotarians. Wherever there is a need for cooperation and help in the society, Rotarians come forward and move forward by serving. He said, here there is a rule of self service. Use your resources and serve….Rotary Rishikesh’s initiative is commendable. This is how humanity should come forward.
