Muni ki Reti/Rishikesh: (Manoj Rautela) Padma Shri awardee and Olympic medal (bronze) winner Yogeshwar Dutt participated in the four-day The Great Ganga Yoga Retreat organized at Vasundhara Palace located at Kailash Gate, rishikesh. This special yoga retreat was conducted by young Anirudh Pokhriyal. In which special attention was given to yoga meditation and mental purification. In a press conference on Sunday, Yogeshwar Dutt said that in today’s time, yoga and meditation not only give physical benefits but also play an important role in character building of children and youth. He urged the children of Uttarakhand to participate in sports like wrestling in greater numbers. Yogeshwar Dutt also shared that he runs a successful wrestling academy in Haryana. Where he gives free training to economically weaker children and motivates them towards a bright future. He said that the youth of Uttarakhand have immense potential. If they get the right direction, discipline and yoga, they can go a long way in life. I appeal to all the children to stay away from addiction and participate in sports, especially wrestling, which teaches them strength and self-control.

Yogeshwar Dutt appreciated this initiative of Anirudh Pokhriyal and said that he would like to invite the youth of Uttarakhand to your training center and teach them wrestling at a professional level. The retreat concluded with the inspirational message that when the ancient tradition of yoga and the modern energy of sports meet, the society gets a strong and alert generation. Praised the Federation – Yogeshwar Dutt said, Haryana government has already started preparations for 2036 Olympics. A budget of Rs. 20 crores has already been set aside for one year so that the youth can prepare. Similarly, he requested the Chief Minister and Sports Minister of Uttarakhand to support the players regarding sports from now itself, talk to the federation. Answering a technical question, Dutt said, there is a difference between mat and soil. According to today, you should know how to play on the mat as well as on the soil. If you play on the mat, the speed will increase, the stress will be less, now world class sports are played only on the mat. We play on soil since childhood. More stress is required on soil. But our background is of soil, so we should learn to play on the mat as well now. We already have soil arenas here.
