Rishikesh : On Wednesday, the office bearers of the residential committee of IDPL under the leadership of All India Congress Committee Member Jayendra Ramola pressed a memorandum to include the IDPL and Krishna Nagar Colony in the Municipal Corporation and handed over to Leader of Opposition Pritam Singh.

All India Congress Committee Member (AICC) Jayendra Ramola said that the IDPL area was once the economic backbone of Rishikesh, but today the people who did the work of irrigating this IDPL in the initial phase, they will not be deprived of their rights by the government nor will their families. Birth certificates are not being made nor any other paper work is being done, so today, at some points, through a memorandum to Leader of Opposition Pritam Singh, by pressing the following points, demanded to include IDPL in the municipal area.

Salient Points-
1- Due to the closure of IDPL Institute, the former employees and their dependents residing here are facing the danger of becoming homeless.
2- In IDPL, the benefit of any facility run by the government is not available, such as – birth or death certificate, old age or widow pension, lack of name in the family register, for doing any kind of small business. Due to non-availability of bank loan, no arrangement for electricity, water and sanitation, all these basic needs have also collapsed.
3- IDPL is surrounded by corporation area Malviya Nagar, Geeta Nagar, Gumaniwala, Mansa Devi, Suman Vihar, 20 Bighas, Shivaji Nagar, Meera Nagar etc and Gram Sabha Khadari. Whereas the use of land of Municipal Corporation area and IDPL area is forest land only. At present, a population of about 25000 is residing in the IDPL residential colony, Krishna Nagar Colony and Khand Ganv, which is deprived of all government schemes and facilities and now the fear of being homeless is also haunting them. In the end, Leader of Opposition Pritam Singh, after listening to all the talk of the members of the committee, assured to keep the above demand in the assembly also.
