Ranchi: India defeated New Zealand by 7 wickets, won the series

Ranchi: India won the series as soon as Pant hit a six. India have captured the series by defeating New Zealand by 7 wickets in the second T20 International match played at JSCA Stadium in Ranchi. The third and last T20 match will be played in Kolkata on November 21. Harshal Patel made his debut in international cricket in today’s match and showed his awesomeness in the very first match. He did a big loss to New Zealand by taking two important wickets.
Earlier in Jaipur also India had defeated New Zealand. After winning the toss, Rohit Sharma decided to bowl first. New Zealand, who came to bat first, got off to a good start. Openers Martin Guptill and Daryl Mitchell got off to a great start. New Zealand scored 64 runs for the loss of one wicket in the powerplay which looked like the team would post 180-plus but the Indian bowlers kept them in check with the spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel doing wonders in the middle overs.
Even before the start of the match, the dew had fallen on the ground, but despite this, the Indian bowlers bowled tightly, due to which the New Zealand team could only manage 153 runs for six wickets. Chasing this target, the Indian team came down to 155 for three in 17.2 overs Won by scoring runs. In this victory, Rohit was also instrumental in giving life to Rohit in the 10th over of Trent Boult. Rishabh Pant (12 not out in six balls) scored two consecutive sixes in the 18th over to give victory to the team. Venkatesh Iyer also remained unbeaten on 12 runs (11 balls two fours). New Zealand captain Tim Southee (for 16 runs in four overs) took all three wickets of India. Rahul (six fours and two sixes in 49 balls) and Rohit (one four and five sixes in 36 balls) got the team off to a fine start with 117 runs in 80 balls for the first wicket.
