Rishikesh: (Manoj Rautela) The renowned Puri Sanjivani Hospital in the pilgrimage city is celebrating its 25th successful silver jubilee anniversary on September 30th. The hospital family wishes to dedicate this silver jubilee occasion to serving poor and helpless women patients. To mark this occasion, the hospital family will celebrate Women’s Health Safety Week from October 6th to 11th.
The hospital’s founder, laparoscopic surgeon Dr. Vinod Kumar Puri, and his daughter, laparoscopic gynecologist Dr. Vinodita Puri, shared the hospital’s plans with Journalists at a press conference. They stated that on the occasion of the hospital’s silver jubilee, a decision has been made to provide specialized medical care for poor and vulnerable women partients. As part of the Women’s Health Protection Week, poor women visiting the hospital will be provided free outpatient services and minimally subsidized surgical procedures. Surgeon Dr. Vinod Kumar Puri stated that this service will be free in the general surgery outpatient department (OPD), in addition to the gynecology department.
Gynecologist Dr. Vinodita Puri stated that malnutrition, anemia, and other diseases continue to pose significant challenges to women’s health and well-being. Anemia remains a serious health crisis in India, affecting 57 percent of women aged 15-49, an increase compared to previous years. Malnutrition has a profound impact on the health of both women and children. She emphasized that raising awareness is essential for the prevention and early detection of diseases such as anemia, hypertension, diabetes, and cancer. Efforts should be made to meet women’s nutritional needs and educate them about hygiene and healthy habits. Women attending the Health Safety Week will be made aware of these issues. Pediatrician Dr. Vineeta Puri was also present on the occasion.
