Mussoorie: ‘Winterline Carnival-2023’ starts in Queen of Hills Mussoorie, vintage car rally was the highlight
Mussoorie : Various activities were organized today in the second day of ‘Winterline Carnival-2023’ in Mussoorie, the Queen of Hills. Tourists who reached Mussoorie participated in Nature Photography Competition/Nature Walk/Bird Watching in Jabarkhet Nature Reserve. Enjoyed Vintage Car Rally from Dehradun to Mussoorie and visit to George Everest Museum.
Meanwhile, local MLA and Honorable Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi flagged off the vintage car rally from Dehradun which is leaving from Dehradun for Mussoorie. He said that heritage vehicles have been included in this rally. Through this, local culture will also be promoted and tourism will also be promoted. Joshi wished for the success of the rally and extended congratulations and best wishes. He said that the objective of the Winter Carnival is to showcase the beauty of the Queen of Hills, Mussoorie and the culture of the state and to include the local tradition, culture, cuisine, products to the country and abroad. In this vintage car rally, 1929 Ford-A, 1950 Morris Minors, 1952 Morris Ford, cars participated in the rally from 1956 to 1962 which remained the center of attraction for tourists and local people. The ITBP presented its first program of rock climbing (opposite Garhwal Terrace), seat rappel for rescuing injured persons and taking quick rescue action in times of disaster. Riha Band and Tamasha Band presented at Gandhi Chowk which mesmerized the tourists. The presentation of ITBP Band in the evening filled the enthusiasm of the people which was very much liked by the tourists.
Volleyball competition was held at the survey ground and Bharat Natyam was presented by Sonal Verma group. Presentation of cultural program by Rita Bhandari Group. In the afternoon, Tilu Rauteli dance by Anil Ghildiyal group, Jhumelo dance presentation by Pramila Negi group and cultural program by Swajan Shiksha Samiti Tourism Valley Jaunpur were presented at the martyr’s place in the afternoon. The presentation of fusion band enthralled the people in the Star Night at Townhall at 09:00 pm and a musical presentation will be given by Inder Arya Group at 09:00 pm. Star gazing programs are being organized in Garhwal Terrace.
In compliance with the instructions of the District Magistrate, bonfires are being burnt at various places in all the areas of the district to protect against cold wave and proper arrangements have been made for the people being accommodated in night shelters. Municipal Council Mussoorie made bonfire arrangements at various places in the city, including Ghantaghar, Picture Palace Bus Stand, Picture Palace, Landhor Chowk, Stepwell, Gurudwara Chowk, Rialto, Jhulaghar, Ambedkar Chowk, Library Chowk, Tehri Bus Stand Old, Library. Places include Bus Stand, New Tehri Bus Stand, Balahisar, Kincraig, Hussainganj Chowk, Kala School, Chaman Estate, Company Garden etc.
