Muni Ki Reti: During the Yoga Festival (IYF2026) GMVN, MD Prateek Jain, Flags Off the Marathon Run

Muni Ki Reti: On the fifth day of the International Yoga Festival, GMVN organized a marathon run. Alongside yoga and Pranayama sessions for practitioners, Friday marked the launch of a marathon dedicated to the themes of ‘Run for Yoga,’ ‘Yoga in Every Home,’ ‘Healthy Mind, Healthy Body,’ and ‘World Peace.’ The Corporation’s Managing Director, Prateek Jain, (IAS)  flagged off the race. During the event, students from various schools participated in the run. On this occasion, the Corporation’s General Manager (Administration), Laxmi Raj Chauhan, and the District Sports Officer (DSO) of Tehri encouraged the students.

On Friday, a large number of local school children joined the marathon during the Yoga Festival, participating to promote yoga, world peace, and a stress-free life. This marathon commenced at the Ganga Resort in Tehri Garhwal and proceeded through Swargashram (Pauri Garhwal), the Taxi Stand, the Laxman Jhula Police Post, Parmath Niketan, Bagh Khala, and Bhagirathi Dham, before looping back to the Ganga Resort via Janaki Jhula. Hundreds of school students demonstrated immense enthusiasm and actively participated in the event.

Corporation officials and sports officers from Tehri and Pauri—including Wahid Ahmed, Rajput, Ajay Chauhan, Deepak Rawat, Sarvajeet Singh, Shahzad, Meharwan Rangad, Arjun, Amit Panwar, Hemant, Manish, Debu Rawat, and Sunil Bhardwaj—played a pivotal role in making the rally a success. To boost the children’s morale, senior officials of the Corporation—including MD Prateek Jain and Laxmi Raj Chauhan—personally joined the run. Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third-place finishers, while certificates of participation will be presented to all those who took part in the rally. During the evning time, cultural programmes will be organised.
