Dehradun: Uttarakhand is hosting the 38th National Games, state  has got the support of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC). IOC will give sponsorship to Uttarakhand for this event. Uttarakhand has officially received the information of initial consent. After this, Uttarakhand has made IOC the bronze sponsor of the National Games. Now IOC will also be seen in the promotion of the event. Under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) item, IOC will soon decide what will be the size of its sponsorship for this event. On January 28, the day the National Games are being inaugurated, the IOC board meeting is also proposed. It is believed that the decision on the size of the sponsorship will be taken in this meeting itself. However, the IOC has given preliminary consent for the sponsorship. According to Amit Sinha, Chief Executive Officer of the National Games, an official mail has been received from the IOC regarding the sponsorship. After this, the IOC will now be the bronze sponsor of the National Games.

In the matter of raising sponsorship for the National Games, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami himself got involved on the front. Strong lobbying in the central government made the matter work. In fact, a few days ago during his Delhi stay, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Puri. He had invited Puri for the National Games. Also, he had requested the IOC and ONGC to get sponsorship in CSR. On this, the minister had assured all possible help. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed his gratitude to the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. What is a bronze sponsor in an event- The category of a big event or program is decided according to the amount of sponsorship received from the sponsor. Sponsorship has always been given in national sports at the IOC level. According to Prateek Joshi, an official associated with the National Sports Secretariat, after studying the past experiences, it has been decided to make the IOC a sponsor in the bronze category. According to this category, the IOC will be seen in the promotion of national games.
