First Hindu woman is contesting election in Pakistan, know about her 

New Delhi : (Arban Swami) For the first time after independence, a Hindu woman will contest general elections in Pakistan. General elections are about to take place. The name of that Hindu woman is Dr. Savera Prakash. Sawira Khyber has filed her nomination papers from Buner district of Pakhtunwa. Elections are to be held in Pakistan on 8 February 2024. According to Pakistani media, Savera Prakash is contesting the elections. This is the 16th National Assembly election of Pakistan. Savera Prakash, daughter of retired doctor Omprakash, has filed her nomination from PK-25 seat. Sawira is the General Secretary of the Women’s Wing of Pakistan People’s Party. She is a doctor by profession.

The condition of the Hindu community in Pakistan is very bad, in such a situation, a woman from the Hindu community contesting elections is a big thing in itself. Savera Prakash, a woman from the Hindu community, will contest the elections on the ticket of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). Saveera’s father Omprakash has also been a PPP worker. Local leader Salim Khan, associated with Qaumi Watan Party, said that Savera is the first Hindu woman who is going to contest elections from Buner district. Savera has filed her nomination papers on Monday. Saveera is a graduate from the International Medical College, Abbottabad and completed her graduation only last year.

Savera Prakash said that she will work for women first. Want to work here for the betterment of women. She will try to work politically for women’s rights. She said that not developing women is a historical mistake, which she wants to improve. Following her father’s footsteps, she wants to improve the hospitals of Pakistan. Local people have appreciated Savera’s step and said that it is going to bring good results.
