Delhi: Girl dies after jumping from Delhi’s Akshardham metro station

New Delhi : A 20-year-old girl, who jumped from Delhi’s Akshardham Metro station on Thursday morning, died during treatment at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital on Thursday night. The girl, who was reportedly hearing and speech-impaired, climbed the wall of the metro station from platform number 2. The security staff and police tried to pacify her, but she suddenly jumped off the shore.

The girl suffered serious injuries all over her body. She was admitted to the ICU of Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. The doctors treating her had told the police that she was not fit to have a stent and her condition was critical.

Police had earlier said, “Her parents have been informed. She has fractured her leg and hand. The incident took place at platform number 2 at 7.30 am.” The reason behind her suicide is not yet known. CISF staff to save her and was pacifying her not to jump but in vain. Police is investigating the matter.
