Delhi: Congress convenes parliamentary strategy committee meeting on November 25

New Delhi. Congress President Sonia Gandhi has called a meeting of the Parliamentary Strategy Committee just before the winter session of Parliament.
According to sources, this meeting will be held on November 25. Significantly, the winter session of Parliament is going to start from November 29. Like the monsoon session, this time also the session is expected to be a stormy one. The entire previous session proved to be an uproar because of opposition unity on the Pegasus issue. However, in the meantime, the Congress started working on like-minded parties. The biggest challenge before the Congress in its strategy to surround the Central Government in the House has been to unite all the opposition parties. Yet the way the Congress got support from other parties in the last session, especially from the TMC, this time it seems less hopeful.
Meanwhile, on Monday, the Congress convened an important meeting under the chairmanship of the General Secretary of the organization to prepare the party strategy in the warroom. After the meeting, KC Venugopal said, “The party has called a meeting in Delhi to chalk out a parliamentary strategy. Earlier, senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge had said that this time also he would try his best to ensure that all the opposition remain united and together raise issues of public interest.
Regarding the winter session, he said that he has had talks with Congress President Sonia Gandhi regarding the issues to be raised in the House. On behalf of the Congress party, about 16 burning issues, including inflation, unemployment, Pentagon report, will be discussed in the house and demand will be sought from the central government. On the issue of TMC, Kharge said, “Our views may be different, the issues of contesting elections may also be different, but when it comes to public interest, we all should fight together.”
The winter session of Parliament will begin from November 29. The winter session of Parliament may conclude before Christmas by 23 December. Proceedings of both the Houses of Parliament, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, will be held simultaneously. Due to the Corona epidemic, last year i.e. in the year 2020, the proceedings of the winter session of Parliament could not take place. (IANS)
