Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the annual function FORNIX-2021 of Government Doon Medical College on Saturday evening as the chief guest. Expressing happiness over the wonderful presentation of the cultural program given by the prospective doctors, the Chief Minister said that the medical students have tested their folk culture very closely. He said that he has always had a special attachment with the students and youth. This is the reason that despite the huge busyness today, I could not stop myself from coming amongst all of you. The Chief Minister said that a doctor is another form of God and it is God’s grace that you are in this area, because service is Narayan. It is the result of your hard work that the biggest vaccination campaign for prevention of Kovid-19 has been successful in India, for this I express my gratitude to all the people associated with this field including all the health workers. In this extraordinary time of Corona Pandemic, with the spirit of Seva Paramo Dharmah, our Doctors, Nurses, Paramedical Staff, Ambulance Workers, Safai Karamcharis, Policemen, Service Workers, Voluntary Organizations etc. have worked tirelessly round the clock regardless of their lives. Don’t back down. A very good work was done by all of you during Covid-19 for which you all deserve congratulations.
The Chief Minister said that he has reached Dehradun today after a three-day visit to Lucknow. For the last 21 years, talks were going on with Uttar Pradesh for sharing of assets but the solution was not reached. But with strong will power, in the Chief Minister level meeting, a point-by-point agreement has been reached regarding the distribution of assets one by one. The Chief Minister said that the whole country is progressing under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. New work culture has come in every field. We are working continuously in the field of health. Recently our country has crossed the milestone of 100 crore vaccination doses. Under the guidance of the Prime Minister, Uttarakhand has become the first state to administer the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine to all citizens above 18 years of age. The stipend of MBBS interns in state medical colleges has been increased from Rs.7500/- per month to Rs.17,000/-.
The state government has decided that MBBS will be conducted in the entire country. The lowest fee for the course will be Rs 1,45,000 in Uttarakhand.
During this, the Chief Minister also honored the doctors. Students gave their presentation on folk culture. Jagar, Nanda Rajajat Yatra and many other folk songs were presented by the students.
On this occasion, Additional Principal Secretary Abhinav Kumar, Principal of Doon Medical College Dr. Ashutosh Sayana, Prof. Desh Deepak, Dr. K.C. Pant, Dr. M.K. Pant etc. were present.
