Bangladeshi national arrested in Dehradun under “Operation Kalanemi”

- Police received solid documents of Bangladeshi national arrested under “Operation Kalanemi” through Ministry of External Affairs
- On the basis of the documents received, Doon Police confirmed that the accused is from Tangail district of Bangladesh
- The accused will be deported to Bangladesh after necessary legal action
Dehradun: On the instructions of Chief Minister Uttarakhand, under “Operation Kalanemi” being run to nab fake babas, on 11/07/2025, a suspicious person, Rukn Rakam alias Shah Alam, son Aabur, resident of Dhaka, Bangladesh, age 26 years, roaming around in the guise of sadhu-saints, was arrested by Sahaspur Police Station on 11/07/2025, from whom information was received about his being a Bangladeshi national and living illegally in India. A case was registered against the accused under the Foreigners Act at Sahaspur Police Station. The police did not find any document from the accused regarding his being a Bangladeshi citizen. In the above case, the police contacted the Bangladesh government through the Ministry of External Affairs and obtained the documents regarding the accused Rukun Rakam being a Bangladeshi citizen. It was learnt that the accused was from Tangail district. On the basis of this, after taking necessary action against the accused, he will be deported to Bangladesh.
