Ghaziabad: Balram Thakur, a notorious criminal of the Anil Dujana gang, was killed by the Ghaziabad Crime Branch SWAT team. He carried a bounty of 50,000 rupees. Two days ago, he had demanded extortion money worth lakhs from Madan Sweets and an iron dealer in Ghaziabad. ADCP Crime Piyush Singh and Crime Branch SWAT team in-charge Anil Rajput’s team neutralized Balram Thakur. This was the first full-scale encounter during the tenure of Police Commissioner J. Ravinder Gaud. The encounter between police and criminals took place in the Wave City police station area.
