Action should be taken against all the criminals on the basis of evidence of the death of the married woman – Kusum Kandawal

Dehradun :In the case of the death of a married woman in Jassowala Dehradun on 07 September 2024, Kusum Kandawal, Chairperson of the Uttarakhand State Women’s Commission, on the basis of the complaint letter received, has talked to SSP Dehradun and directed for action.According to the letter received by the State Women’s Commission in the case, the father of the deceased wrote that his daughter was married to Mukesh Pal, a youth resident of Jassowala Dehradun, on 10 May. Shortly after the marriage, the family of the youth Mukesh started harassing my daughter for dowry, as well as started fighting, cruelty and illegally harassing for not giving dowry. He wrote in the letter that my daughter had told on the phone that the in-laws say that if you do not give 10 lakh rupees, we will kill you.
On 7th September 2024, at 05-06 pm, information came from my daughter’s in-laws that your daughter is unwell, we are taking her to the hospital, when we reached the hospital, our daughter had died and no one from the in-laws’ side was present there. The applicant has alleged that my daughter has been tortured by her in-laws and forced to commit suicide or her in-laws have killed her.In the case, State Women Commission Chairperson Kusum Kandwal has ordered SSP Dehradun to investigate seriously. She has said that all the evidence including the reasons for the death of the married woman should be investigated promptly and strict action should be taken against the accused and no accused found guilty in the investigation should be spared so that the victim’s family can get justice.On which SSP Dehradun Ajay Singh gave information and said that a case has been registered in the said case and the husband and father-in-law of the deceased have been arrested and investigation is being done in the case and on the basis of other evidence, no accused involved in the case will be spared.
