Srinagar: ITBP constable accused of raping female constable in Mussoorie arrested, sent to jail

Srinagar : Uttarakhand Police arrested an ITBP jawan accused of raping a ITBP constable from Srinagar in Pauri Garhwal district on the pretext of marriage. After presenting him in the court on Saturday, the accused jawan was sent to jail.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Srinagar Garhwal Shyamdutt Nautiyal said that on October 19, a woman had filed a report in the Srinagar police station and told that ITBP jawan had raped her on the pretext of marriage. The matter was being investigated. On Saturday, the police got information that the accused has come to Srinagar Garhwal.

Pramila Bisht, in-charge of women’s station, Srinagar, Garhwal, has arrested Om Prakash, a resident of Karnprayag, accused of rape. At present, the accused jawan is said to be posted in the 23rd Corps ITBP border, Dehradun. On the other hand, a few days ago in Mussoorie, a woman ITBP jawan had accused her colleague of rape.
