Colombo: Violence erupted in Sri Lanka with the resignation of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. Rioters have set fire to the ancestral house of former Sri Lankan PM Mahinda Rajapaksa. Apart from this, the houses of many MPs of the ruling party have been burnt. According to the information, the ancestral house of Mahinda Rajapaksa located in Kurunegala town was set ablaze by the demonstrators on Monday evening. Meanwhile, emergency has been imposed in the country. Police has imposed curfew across the country but the violence is not taking its name to stop.Journalist sanjay jha tweeted this video from srilanka.

Meanwhile, former Sri Lankan cricketer Arjuna Ranatunga has blamed the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) for the arson in the country. Ranatunga said Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna gathered people at the official residence of former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. Ranatunga also said that the rioters were gathered outside the house of MPs by Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
