SOG’s ASP Divya Mittal Arrested for demanding bribe of two crores, broker absconding

Jaipur :  In Ajmer, SOG’s ASP Divya Mittal has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). He is accused of demanding a bribe of Rs 2 crore through a middleman. Broker Sumit Kumar is absconding. The ACB team is raiding five of his locations in Rajasthan including Udaipur, Ajmer. Action is still going on.

Acting Director General of ACB Hemant Priyadarshi said that the complaint was given by the complainant to the Special Investigation Unit of ACB, Jaipur. In this, it was said that ASP Divya Mittal is being harassed by demanding two crore rupees through middleman Sumit Kumar in lieu of not arresting and helping in the drug smuggling case against him. The complainant told the ACB that SOG ASP Divya Mittal’s broker called Udaipur over the phone. There, in Divya Mittal’s resort and farm house, the broker threatened Rs 2 crore. In this case, the complaint was verified under the direction of Jaipur ASP Bajrang Singh Shekhawat. In this, Divya Mittal and Dalal Sumeet’s demand of two crore rupees was verified. In the conversation, on the persuasion of the complainant, it was agreed to give first one crore rupees and then 50 lakh rupees. There was talk of giving the first installment of Rs 25 lakh now and the second installment after the marriage of the complainant’s sister. The accused did not accept the bribe amount after getting the inkling of ACB’s action.

After this a complaint was made in ACB. After this the ACB team reached Divya Mittal’s house. Verification of the complaint was done. The broker had also come to collect the money, but the action of the trap could not be done. After taking warrant from the court, action is being taken at 5 places. Under the direction of ACB Additional Director General Dinesh MN, the accused is being interrogated thoroughly regarding the involvement of high officials of the police department.

The complainant said- Divya had gone to give the first installment of Rs 25 lakh to the broker for Mittal. Who had absconded due to suspicion. Here, the ACB had also arranged a trap to catch them red-handed, but failed. When the ACB came to know about the correctness of the demand for bribe, a search warrant was issued by the order of the court. The search operation was carried out in front of Divya herself in Divya’s flat in ARG Society located on Jaipur Road in Ajmer. Apart from Ajmer, raids are going on at 5 places in Jaipur, Udaipur and Jhunjhunu. In May 2021, Divya Mittal had seized drugs worth more than Rs 16 crore. In this, medicines worth Rs 5.5 crore have been seized in Jaipur and medicines worth Rs 11 crore have been seized twice in Ajmer. All these medicines were of different brands, but most of them contained the salt tramodol.

ACB’s ADG Dinesh Sharma told that on January 4, the complainant came to him. He told that there is a company manufacturing medicines in Haridwar. A bribe of Rs 2 crore was demanded from him through a broker.  On January 12, Additional SP Bajrang Singh Shekhawat left from Jaipur to take action on the trap. During this the complainant reached to the Additional SP. During this, the additional SP agreed for 50 lakhs. It was decided to give 25 lakhs before work and 25 lakhs after work. The accused broker did not take the money during that time.

On this Deputy SP Mangilal was given the investigation of this matter. Mangilal sought permission from the court to conduct a search in this regard. The search operation has been started on Sunday itself. Now the investigation has started after arresting the woman Additional SP.
