Rishikesh: List of top 50 Medical Institutions of the country released, AIIMS Rishikesh shines at 22nd position in the ranking
Rishikesh: The list of top 50 medical institutions in the country was released by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) on Monday. All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS Rishikesh has secured 22nd position this time among the selected 50 medical institutions of the country. Last time AIIMS Rishikesh was at number 49. Institute’s Executive Director Professor (Dr.) Meenu Singh has termed it as the result of hard work done by team work.
All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS Rishikesh has been ranked 22nd among the top 50 medical institutes in the country. The Ministry of Education released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Ranking 2023 list on Monday. This time AIIMS Delhi has secured the first position in the country in the list of excellent medical colleges by obtaining a score of 94.32. While AIIMS Rishikesh has gained 22nd position with a score of 60.06 this time as compared to last year. It is noteworthy that the list of educational institutions of the country is issued by NIRF in many categories. NIRF ranking was started in the year -2016.
The foundation stone of AIIMS Rishikesh was laid in the year 2004 by the then Health Minister Sushma Swaraj during the tenure of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. During that period, apart from Rishikesh, new AIIMS were established in Patna of Bihar, Bhopal of Madhya Pradesh, Bhubaneshwar of Odisha, Jodhpur of Rajasthan and Raipur of Chhattisgarh. It may be noted that the UG course studies in AIIMS Rishikesh started in the year 2012. At present, UG, PG and superspeciality courses in Medical, Nursing and Paramedical are being run here. While at present Professor (Dr.) Meenu Singh is leading the Institute as its Executive Director. This time, AIIMS Patna has been ranked 27th, AIIMS Bhopal 38th and AIIMS Raipur 39th in the ranking list released by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) on Monday.
Describing this as a major achievement for the institute, Professor (Dr.) Meenu Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS Rishikesh, said that it was due to the collective efforts of AIIMS Rishikesh Professor, Associate Professor, Doctor, Medical Staff, Paramedical Staff and all other officers and employees. The institute has achieved this edge. He said that on the basis of team work, it will be our endeavor to achieve the highest position in the future by performing better in the All India Ranking.
Public Relations Officer of Aiims Harish Mohan Thapliyal said that the standards of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, student strength programs, placements and higher studies programs of all these medical institutions are tested in the ranking. He told that AIIMS Rishikesh has got this place by performing better in all these.
