Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has requested Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar for safe return of people of Uttarakhand trapped in Myanmar. The Chief Minister spoke to the Foreign Minister over phone on Thursday and apprised him of the situation and told that more than 15 men and nine women from Uttarakhand have been kidnapped by Myanmar call centers and are being forced to work in call centers in Myanmar. He said that due to this situation, the families of the victims are going through trouble and mental agony. He said that this incident has also created fear among the people of Uttarakhand. In this regard, the Chief Minister, referring to the news published in the Times of India and other news media dated July 31, 2024, has expected assistance from the External Affairs Minister to expedite the process of safe return of the citizens of Uttarakhand.
