Police busted sex racket in Haldwani, prostitution was going on in a house in Kalavati Colony

Haldwani:  Nainital Police has exposed a sex racket in hilly state Uttarakhand. Police have arrested 4 people including a woman running a sex racket. The police have also rescued a girl from the clutches of a sex racket. The sex racket operator has already gone to jail for prostitution.

Giving information about the case, Senior Superintendent of Police, Nainital Prahlad Narayan Meena said that Anti Human Trafficking Police and Haldwani Kotwali Police raided a house in Kalavati Colony area of the city on Tuesday. A sex racket was being run in the house. During the raid, the police arrested a woman and two men, including sex racket operator Tania Shaikh. Whereas a girl has been freed from their clutches. During the raid in the house, a victim girl resident of West Bengal was found. While a man was found in an objectionable condition. Objectionable material has also been recovered from their possession. Tania Sheikh, the leader of the sex racket arrested from the spot, told during interrogation that she had taken the house of Praveen Kumar, a resident of Kalavati Colony, on rent for Rs 12 thousand per month. In which a sex racket was being run. Tania told that Sharifa Begum provides her women to run the sex racket.

In the entire case, action is being taken against the people arrested in Haldwani Kotwali by registering a case under Section 370 IPC and Section 3/4/5/6 Immoral Traffic Prevention Act and sending them to jail. A victim girl has been rescued by the police from the spot. The police have taken action against landlord Praveen Kumar under the Police Act and issued a challan of Rs 5,000 for not verifying the tenant. SSP said that Tania Sheikh alias Priyanka Mandal, resident of Sonakhali police station Basanti, Canning South District 24 Parganas, West Bengal, has been arrested in the past also in the sex racket case.
