Washington/New Delhi : Donald Trump will be next president of USA. he was re-elected as the President of the United States on Wednesday. His victory is being described as the biggest political comeback of any leader in American history. Trump was elected President of the United States once again after a gap of four years. He lost the White House race in 2020, after which his supporters vandalized and set fire to the US Capitol (Parliament complex).
According to information provided by the ‘Associated Press’ at 7 pm, Trump and Harris have secured 277 and 224 electoral votes respectively. Trump (78) is the oldest person to be elected President of the country in American history. With a win in Wisconsin, he secured the 270 electoral votes required to be declared victorious in the presidential election.Addressing supporters in West Palm Beach, Florida, Trump declared his victory in the presidential election and described the mandate as unprecedented and powerful.
Referring to two failed attempts on his life during the election campaign, Trump said, Many people told me that God has spared my life for a special reason. He said, This will be a truly golden age for America. This is a great victory, which will help us make America great again. Trump said, This is a great victory for the people of America. This was a movement that no one had ever seen before, and frankly, I believe that this was the largest political movement ever. There has never been anything like this in this country, and probably outside it. He said, And now it is going to reach a new level, because we will help our country to recover. We live in a country that needs help and a lot of help. We are going to fix our borders, we are going to fix everything about our country. As soon as the initial trends of the counting of votes indicated Trump’s victory, congratulatory messages started pouring in for Trump. From Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, British Prime Minister Keir Stormer and French President Emmanuel Macron, everyone congratulated Trump on his historic return to the White House.
Trump is the second person in the US after former President Grover Cleveland (1885-1889 and 1893-1897) to return to the White House after a gap of four years. Trump’s victory is being termed historic and unprecedented because his defeat at the hands of Joe Biden in 2020 was considered the end of his political career. Trump rejected the election results and even indirectly called upon his supporters to march towards the US Capitol, who committed violence, vandalism and arson in the Parliament complex. He also challenged the election results in the courts. A grand jury convicted Trump on 34 charges related to tampering with business records. At that time, Kamala Harris’s election campaign team had said that no one is above the law, while Trump had described the decision as the result of a ‘chaotic’ political system.
Trump became the first person to secure the nomination for the White House race after being convicted in a fraud case. She became the first black woman to be declared a presidential candidate by a major party in the US.
