Mumbai : The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri to get ‘Y’ Category CRPF Security

New Delhi . The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has decided to give ‘Y’ category of CRPF security cover to Vivek Agnihotri, Director of ‘The Kashmir Files’ across the country. Sources gave this information on Friday. According to sources, the Home Ministry’s decision came after an assessment of Agnihotri’s security threat by intelligence and other security agencies. Under the ‘Y’ category, Agnihotri will get eight CRPF personnel, including one or two commandos, apart from police personnel.
Agnihotri’s film ‘The Kashmir Files’ is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from Jammu and Kashmir following the escalation of militancy in the Valley. Lauding the film, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently said that such films expose the truth and claimed that there was a “conspiracy” to defame it.
Presently, CRPF provides security cover to 117 security personnel of different categories and for the first time 32 women personnel have been inducted into VIP security wing. A total of 41 VIPs were provided security cover by CRPF during the recently concluded assembly elections in five states.
However, the security of 27 security personnel has been withdrawn after the elections.
