Mumbai: Rohit Sharma captain, Kohli rested, Team India announced for T20 series against New Zealand
Mumbai/Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced Team India for the upcoming T20 series against New Zealand. The selection committee has announced a 15-man squad for the series. Rohit Sharma has been given the command of the team. Along with this, the India-A team for the upcoming South Africa tour has also been announced. After this, Virat Kohli will be seen leading the Indian team in the Test and ODI series.
Star opener KL Rahul will be the vice-captain of the team. Venkatesh Iyer and Harshal Patel will be the new faces in the team. Leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has returned to the team. The three-match T20 series between India and New Zealand will be played from November 17. The first match will be played on November 17, the second on 19 and the third on November 21. Four veterans of Team India have been rested for the T20 series. It has Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami. Apart from these, all-rounder Hardik Pandya has also not been selected in the team. It is believed that Hardik Pandya’s poor fitness has become the reason for his non-selection.
