Mumbai: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken major action against a relative of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. ED has attached assets worth Rs 6.45 crore of Uddhav’s relative. It is being told that 11 of his flats have also been attached. The matter is being told related to hawala business and money laundering.
According to the Hindi news channel ‘Aaj Tak’, this action has been taken against the real brother of Uddhav Thackeray’s wife. His name is Shridhar Madhav Patankar. According to the report, 11 flats of Patankar have been sealed. It has been told in the report that Sridhar is a company of Madhav Patankar. The name is ‘Shri Sai Baba Grih Nirti Private Limited’. This flat belongs to the same company.
It has been told in the report that the case was registered in the year 2017. This case was registered against a company named Pushpak Bullion. It is being told that Rs 30 crore was parked through a hawala trader named Nandkishore Chaturvedi. These 30 crore rupees related to hawala business were invested in Sridhar Madhav Patankar’s company ‘Shri Sai Baba Grih Nirni Private Limited’. Sridhar did not appear before ED.
It is being told that the Enforcement Directorate has issued summons to Patankar several times for questioning in this regard. But, Sridhar Madhav did not appear before the ED. Now the ED has taken action to attach his property. Shiv Sena spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has said that Shridhar Madhav Patankar is a member of our family. He is not just a relative of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. In Maharashtra, where the Bharatiya Janata Party is not in power, the ED is taking action one after the other in a ruthless manner.
