Mumbai : Blast on Indian Navy’s warship INS Ranveer in Mumbai; 3 soldiers killed, many injured

Mumbai : Three Navy personnel were killed on Tuesday in an explosion aboard Indian Naval Warship (INS) Ranvir at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai. “In an unfortunate incident at the Mumbai Naval Dockyard, an explosion in an interior chamber of INS Ranvir resulted in the death of three Navy personnel,” the Indian Navy said in a statement. It said the ship’s crew reacted quickly and brought the situation under control quickly. No major damage has been reported, the statement said.

“INS Ranvir was on a cross coast mission deployment from Eastern Naval Command since November 2021 and was scheduled to return to base port shortly,” the statement said. The Navy said a ‘Board of Inquiry’ has been ordered to probe the cause of the incident.
