Karnataka : Targeting the party over Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s “poisonous snake” remark, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the Congress and its leaders have so far insulted him 91 times in different ways. Accusing the Congress of insulting the Lingayat community in Karnataka as well, Modi said the party had also abused Babasaheb Ambedkar and Veer Savarkar. The Prime Minister, who is on his first campaign tour to the state after elections were announced in Karnataka on March 29, hit out at the Congress, saying people will respond to its abuses with votes and they (Congress leaders) will join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). But the more mud you throw, the more the lotus will bloom. Modi said that the Congress hates anyone who talks about the common man, exposes his corruption and attacks his politics of selfishness. Congress’s hatred against such people runs deep. Even in this election, the Congress has once again started abusing me.
