Earlier in the morning, two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed in an encounter by security forces in Shopian district. At the same time, a terrorist was killed by security forces in an encounter in Anantnag on Friday. Apart from this, four terrorists were also arrested by the security forces. A few hours before the encounter in Awantipora, two terrorists were killed by the security forces in Shopian district. A police official said that on receipt of intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists, the security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Chowgam area of ​​Shopian.

During this, the terrorists hiding in the area opened fire on the security forces, after which the security forces also retaliated and the operation turned into an encounter.
