J&K : Army Colonel, Major, Jawan and DSP of J&K Police Martyred, Two terrorists also Killed, Encounter Continues

In which there is a colonel, a major and a soldier. Whereas there is also a Deputy SP rank young officer of Jammu and Kashmir Police. Colonel Manpreet Singh who was martyred in Jammu and Kashmir, was a resident of Sector 26 of Panchkula. His wife Jagmeet Grewal, sister and brother-in-law are present at his residence in Panchkula.

An Indian Army colonel and a major commanding a Rashtriya Rifles unit have lost their lives in an encounter with terrorists in Anantnag in Kashmir. So far, two terrorists have been killed in the encounter that has been going on since Tuesday in Rajouri and a soldier has been martyred. “The commanding colonel and a major of a Rashtriya Rifles unit lost their lives in an encounter with terrorists in Anantnag, Kashmir. According to police, today, Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police officials were injured after an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Kokernag area of Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir Police tweeted, “Encounter has started in Kokernag area of Anantnag. Army and JKP (Jammu and Kashmir Police) officers were injured. Detailed information will be given in this matter., It is noteworthy that during the encounter that started in Narla area of Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, security forces killed two terrorists. According to officials, during the ongoing encounter on Wednesday evening, the security forces have recovered a large quantity of war material including medicines with Pakistan’s marking during the search. Defense PRO Lt Col Sunil Bartwal said the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police tracked the movement of the two terrorists since September 7.”Troops engaged the terrorists and engaged in heavy gunfire on September 12, in which one terrorist was killed the same night. Despite bad weather and hostile terrain, the second terrorist was pursued and killed after heavy firing throughout the night, the PRO statement said. He was killed on the morning of 13 September.

The statement also said, A large quantity of war material has been recovered, including Pakistan marked medicines. One soldier of 63 RR has made the supreme sacrifice and three soldiers along with an SPO have been injured. Kent, an army dog, has also sacrificed his life.

Talking about martyr DSP Humayun Bhat, his father Ghulam Hasan Bhat had served in Jammu and Kashmir Police. He was DIG. Humayun Bhat was an officer of 2018 batch. He was counted among the sharp officers of Jammu and Kashmir Police. He got married only a year ago and had recently become a father.
