Bengaluru: Indian wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan has become the second most expensive Indian player in the history of IPL auction. 23-year-old Kishan has been bought by Mumbai Indians for ₹15.25 crore. The most expensive Indian player in the history of IPL is still Yuvraj Singh who was bought by Delhi Capitals (earlier Delhi Daredevils) in 2015 for ₹16 crores.
Today is the second day of IPL 2022 Mega Auction. The players’ auction has started once again from 12 noon. There are many capped and uncapped players being bid on today. Today all the players are being auctioned fast. England’s Liam Livingstone is the most expensive player ever on the second day. He was bought by Punjab for Rs 11.50 crore. Singapore-born Australian batsman Tim David was bought by Mumbai Indians for Rs 8.25 crore. David is a master at hitting big.
Suresh Raina, who was the star batsman of Chennai Super Kings and Team India, did not get any bid in the mega auction of IPL 2022. Former bowler Harbhajan Singh has expressed his displeasure over his unsold. He said that leaving some players unsold is sad for the IPL.
Raina has been the best batsman of IPL-
He said that when Raina was at his best, he was not only CSK’s top player but all other teams were eyeing him. After 13-14 years, there are many other players now and it may be difficult for Raina to make it to the team. Raina played for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 11 of his 12 IPL seasons. He was part of Gujarat Lions for two seasons when CSK were suspended from the tournament in 2016 and 2017.
