Chennai : India Won the Asian Champions Trophy for the Fourth Time by defeating Malaysia, made a Record, PM Modi Congratulated

Chennai : (Robert Unni) Its was historic win for Indian Men’s Hockey Team on Saturday.   The Indian team made a big record. The Indian hockey team, captained by Harmanpreet Singh, won the Asian Champions Trophy-2023 for a record fourth time. He defeated Malaysia 4-3 in the final. In the last quarter, the match was tied at 3-3, but in the last minute, Team India scored 4-3 with a goal and won by the same margin. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also Congratulated after becoming Asian Champion fourth time.




After trailing by 2 goals, India made a spectacular comeback under the leadership of captain Harmanpreet Singh to beat Malaysia 4-3. With this title victory, Hangzhou presented a solid proof of its preparations for the Asian Games. India was trailing 1-3 till the last minute of the third quarter but after that it did not take long to turn the match around in the last 16 minutes.

PM Modi also Congratulated-

India scored 2 goals within the first 30 seconds and then took a decisive lead in the last quarter. This is India’s fourth title and it left behind Pakistan (3 titles). Jugraj Singh (9th minute), captain Harmanpreet Singh (45th), Gurjant Singh (45th) and Akashdeep Singh (56th) scored for India, while Abu Kamal Azrai (14th), Rahim Raji (18th) and Mohd Aminudin (14th) scored for Malaysia. 28th) scored the goals.

Earlier, Japan dominated from the start and defeated defending champions South Korea 5-3 on Saturday to secure the third place in the Asian Champions Trophy (ACT) hockey tournament. Seryoma Oka (3rd), Ryoshi Kato (9th), Kentaro Fukuda (28th), Shota Yamada (53rd) and Ken Nagayoshi (58th) scored for Japan, while Jonghyun Jang (15th and 33rd) and Cheolion Park scored for Korea. (26th) scored goals.
