Haldwani: Most wanted Abdul Malik of Banbhulpura violence has been arrested. Uttarakhand Police has picked up Malik from Delhi. The police was after it for many days. Raids were being conducted everywhere. There was violence on February 8. Since then, in search of Malik, the police was continuously raiding his places. Police found his location in Delhi. After that he was arrested from there.

On February 8, the police and administration team that had gone to demolish the illegal madrasa and religious place in Malik’s garden in Banbhulpura area of Haldwani were attacked by the local people. City Magistrate Richa Singh, Ramnagar Kotwal and more than 300 policemen and corporation workers were injured in stone pelting. The miscreants also burnt Banbhulpura police station. More than 70 vehicles including police jeep, JCB, fire engine and two-wheelers were burnt. When the situation did not come under control even after firing tear gas shells and lathi charge, the officers were the first to run away from the spot to save their lives. The police and corporation team somehow left from there. The administration has given orders to shoot the miscreants in the legs on sight. Six people including father and son died due to bullet injuries.
