Gurugram : Lawrence Bishnoi-Kala Jathedi gang member arrested for demanding extortion

Gurugram :  A member of Lawrence Bishnoi-Kala Jathedi gang has been arrested for demanding an extortion of Rs 5 crore from a Gurugram businessman. Police also recovered an illegal weapon and live cartridges from the criminal.The accused has been identified as Akash, a resident of Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh.

The complainant businessman told the police that around 1.32 pm on Monday. He received WhatsApp voice calls, messages and voice notes of a person who identified himself as a member of Lawrence Bishnoi-Kala Jathedi gang and demanded Rs 5 crore as extortion and threatened dire consequences if the amount was not paid.Taking quick action, the crime branch team caught the accused with illegal weapons from Basai Chowk on Tuesday.

ACP (crime) Preetpal Sangwan said, The accused confessed to his crime and disclosed that his associate had provided contact details and weapons to the complainant and on Monday he sent threatening calls and messages to the victim.

The ACP said that the phone used in the crime has also been recovered from the possession of the accused.
