Girl dies in accident in Delhi’s Kanjhawala area, clothes entangled in wheel of car, dragged for several kilometres, body found naked
New Delhi:The new year has brought happiness for some and an unforgettable pain for others. In fact, on the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday in Delhi, a girl riding a scooty has died in an accident. As per reports, the girl’s clothes got entangled in the wheel of a car, due to which she was dragged for several kilometers in the outer Delhi area. The girl’s clothes were torn and the police found her naked body. Initially it was suspected that she was first raped and then dragged out and killed. But now the police have clarified that it was an accident in which she died and her body was trapped in a car.
A senior police officer said that the information about the accident was received over the phone at around 3.24 am. The caller informed that a girl’s body was tied to the Baleno car and was being dragged. The official said that the caller was continuously contacted by the team of Kanjhawala police station on his mobile number. The caller later identified the vehicle as a gray colored Baleno car. Immediately after receiving the PCR call, a police team was sent to the spot and the deployed staff was alerted. The message to seek the vehicle was also flashed. Later, the police received a second PCR call at around 4.11 am regarding a body lying in Kanjhawala area. On receiving the information, the police team reached the spot and also called the crime team of Rohini district to the spot. The crime team visited the crime scene and took pictures from different angles as well as collected evidence from the crime scene. After this the girl was sent to SGM Hospital Mangolpuri, where doctors declared her brought dead.
The car has been identified and the occupants of the vehicle have been traced during interrogation, the officer said, adding that the car met with an accident in the Sultanpuri police station area. Police said that the SHO had already seen a scooty in an accident condition during night patrolling in Sultanpuri police station area and this information was registered at the police station at 3.53 am. Further investigation was done with the scooty number which revealed that the vehicle belonged to the victim girl. Police said that on spot inspection, it was found that after the accident, the girl got trapped in the wheels of the car and was dragged for a long distance. Police said they have arrested five people in the car. They have been identified as Deepak Khanna, Amit Khanna, Krishna, Mithu and Manoj Mittal. Further investigation is on in the matter.
