Yazik Hilang from Arunachal Pradesh representing India has won the gold medal in South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship

ITANAGAR:  Yazik Hilang from Arunachal Pradesh representing India has won the gold medal in the 15th South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship, 2025 held in Thimpu, Bhutan. She won the gold medal in the women’s model physique category (up to 155 cm) event. Hilang also won the bronze medal in the women’s swimsuit physique category in the same event. The championship, organised by the Bhutan Bodybuilding Association, was held from June 11 to 15. The championship was hosted by the Bhutan Bodybuilding Association and saw participation from several South Asian countries. The event was sanctioned by the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation and the Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation. Arunachal Bodybuilding Association president Nabam Tuna in a statement praised Yazik’s achievement, saying it was “remarkable not only for her personal success but also for representing India at the global stage.” Yazik’s success is a proud moment for both the state and the country. This achievement is expected to inspire a new generation of athletes from the Northeast to excel in physical sports.
