Radhakrishnan, today addressed the 6th Convocation Ceremony of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) located in Rishikesh. Ascribing spiritual and cultural significance to Rishikesh\u2014not only as a global hub for contemplation and healing but also as the gateway to the Himalayas\u2014the Vice President remarked that such an environment further deepens the solemnity of the convocation ceremony. The Vice President stated that a convocation ceremony marks not only the culmination of years of disciplined effort and sacrifice but also the beginning of a profound responsibility toward society and the nation. Highlighting India&#8217;s comprehensive vaccination drive, he mentioned that free vaccines were administered to over 140 million citizens, thereby ensuring equitable access to healthcare. He emphasized that Indian scientists developed these vaccines not for profit, but for the welfare of humanity. The Vice President also underscored India&#8217;s global responsibility through its &#8216;Vaccine Maitri&#8217; initiative, under which vaccines were provided to over 100 countries. He stated that this initiative embodies the spirit of *&#8217;Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam&#8217;* (The World is One Family) and reinforces India&#8217;s role as a compassionate and responsible global partner. Highlighting the expansion of healthcare infrastructure, the Vice President stated that the new AIIMS institutions established across the country over the past decade have strengthened access to quality healthcare and medical education. Commending AIIMS Rishikesh, he noted that the institute serves as a model of excellence in the fields of clinical care, academic prowess, research, innovation, and social commitment. Specifically lauding its telemedicine initiatives, he emphasized that healthcare services must extend beyond hospital campuses to reach remote and underserved populations. He stated that the field of medicine is currently undergoing rapid transformation, wherein Artificial Intelligence, digital health, and modern research methodologies are rendering healthcare services increasingly effective. He noted that AIIMS Rishikesh is making a significant contribution in this regard, thereby preparing the healthcare system for the future. Addressing the young physicians, the Governor remarked that medicine is not merely a profession, but a realm of service and sensitivity. A patient approaches a physician seeking not only medical treatment but also trust and hope. He noted that AIIMS Rishikesh, established by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, has today emerged as a vital, life-saving institution for the state. The institute offers state-of-the-art facilities for treatments such as cancer care, neurosurgery, robotic surgery, and joint replacement. Furthermore, the air ambulance service is playing a pivotal role in providing emergency healthcare services to the remote and inaccessible regions of the state. The Chief Minister also mentioned that the construction of a satellite center for AIIMS Rishikesh is currently underway in Udham Singh Nagar, which will enable the residents of the Kumaon region to also benefit from high-quality medical facilities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Chief Minister affirmed that, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government remains steadfastly committed to strengthening healthcare services. Rapid progress is being made on various initiatives, including the establishment of medical colleges in every district of the state, the expansion of the telemedicine network, ensuring the availability of affordable medicines through *Jan Aushadhi Kendras* (Generic Medicine Centers), and providing free pathological diagnostic services. Addressing the doctors receiving their degrees at the ceremony, Union Minister of State for Health Anupriya Patel remarked that the medical profession is not merely a career choice, but the ultimate avenue for serving humanity. He called upon everyone to uphold the trust of patients and to prioritize their interests above all else in every situation, while also emphasizing the need to make ethics and integrity the foundation of their work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He stated that amidst the continuous changes taking place in the medical field, it is essential for doctors to engage in lifelong learning to ensure the provision of superior medical care.
