He set the record for the highest lifting weight of 88 kg in snatch, while lifting 109 kg in his first attempt in clean and jerk and put the gold medal in his bag. He also won gold in 2018. This is India&#8217;s third medal. Earlier, 21-year-old Sanket Mahadev Sargar won silver and Gururaja Pujari won bronze medal in weightlifting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mirabai lifted the maximum weight of 84 kg in snatch. In the second attempt, he lifted 88 kg. This is also his national record. However, she failed to lift 90 kg in the third attempt. Despite this, she remained ahead of other weightlifters. Mirabai Chanu chose to lift 80 kg in the 49 kg weight category. Canada&#8217;s Hannah Kaminsky lifted the highest weight of 72 kg in the first round.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mirabai Chanu also won the gold medal in the 2018 Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast. Mirabai also won the silver medal in the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Chanu once again created history by performing brilliantly in the Birmingham Games. Won silver medal in Tokyo Olympics. Karnam became the second Indian weightlifter after Malleswari to win gold at the Olympics.
