In such a situation, there are reports that India is sending its army to Sri Lanka. However, once again putting an end to these rumors, India has made it clear that it is with the people of Sri Lanka and such reports are only rumours. The Indian High Commission has categorically denied the media and social media reports about sending its troops to Sri Lanka. The Indian High Commission in Colombo said that such reports and stances are not in line with the position of the Government of India.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The High Commission would like to categorically deny speculative reports in sections of media and social media about <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/India?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#India<\/a> sending her troops to Sri Lanka. These reports and such views are also not in keeping with the position of<br \/>\nthe Government of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/India?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#India<\/a>. Let us tell you that such news is going on in the media and social media of Sri Lanka that India is sending its army to the neighboring state. Earlier, the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka on Tuesday termed as &#8220;fake and absolutely false&#8221; reports on local social media that speculated that former Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and his family members may have fled to India.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mahinda Rajapaksa on Monday resigned as Prime Minister amid intensifying anti-government protests in Sri Lanka due to the severe economic crisis. In a statement, the High Commission of India said, &#8220;The High Commission has taken cognizance of the recent rumors being spread on social media and in some sections of the media that some political persons and their families have fled to India.&#8221; This is fake and absolutely false news, which has no truth.
