Former Pakistan Information and Broadcasting Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said on Sunday that the federal cabinet has been dissolved, but Prime Minister Imran Khan will continue with his duties under Article 224 of the Constitution. Hussain, however, did not give further details. Earlier on Sunday, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri rejected the much-awaited motion of no-confidence against the prime minister, saying it was contrary to Article 5 of the Constitution.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a televised address minutes after the dismissal, Khan announced that he had advised President Alvi to dissolve all assemblies, paving the way for mid-term elections. The President, taking note of the motion, dissolved the National Assembly and according to sources elections would be held within a period of 90 days.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pakistan&#8217;s former Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farooq Habib said on Sunday that elections would be held in 90 days as President Arif Alvi dissolved the National Assembly on the advice of Prime Minister Imran Khan. This information has come out from the report of Duniya News. On Sunday, NA vice-president Qasim Suri rejected the much-awaited no-confidence motion against the prime minister, saying it was contrary to Article 5 of the Constitution.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Minutes after the dismissal, Khan announced in a televised address that he had advised President Alvi to dissolve all assemblies, paving the way for mid-term elections.
